White Stadium
Boston, MA
Boston’s historic White Stadium is entering a new era. Following a comprehensive civil planning study, Samiotes has advanced the design and jurisdictional permitting efforts to help transform the long-underutilized landmark into the future home of the new NWSL women’s professional soccer team, as well as provide much needed athletic and recreational resources for the City of Boston public schools. The project, now under construction, has been a collaborative effort focusing on revitalizing White Stadium—damaged by fire decades ago—and upgrading the athletic field to NWSL standards, as well as the surrounding track and field facilities.
Reimagining a Landmark for the Next Generation
Samiotes is providing civil engineering leadership for the design and permitting of this major collaborative private/public redevelopment. Key responsibilities include:
-
Leading all civil engineering design for the East Grandstand, Soccer Field and Track & Field improvements
-
Serving as the lead coordinator for jurisdictional permitting with City and State agencies
-
Supporting the Ch.149 public construction process with integrated technical documentation
-
Evaluating existing site infrastructure and developing resilient, regulatory-compliant upgrades to accommodate the redevelopment
-
Ensuring site circulation, grading, and utilities reinforce the stadium’s new programmatic goals
The result will restore White Stadium as a vibrant civic venue—modernized for both professional and amateur athletics while honoring its historic presence in Franklin Park.
