University of Massachusetts Lowell
Lowell, MA
Samiotes has provided civil engineering and land surveying services for multiple projects at
UMass Lowell, on and off its 142-acre campus. Below are two representative projects:
Ball Hall Restoration
In 2022, the Restoration project at Ball Hall began, which houses Computer Engineering classrooms, offices, and is the base for the University of Police Department. The project will allow for increased accessibility, sustainability, and efficiency for the building and surrounding campus.
Inn and Conference Center
Samiotes provided civil engineering, environmental permitting, and land surveying for the UML renovation of the existing Doubletree Hotel into its own Inn and Conference Center for up to 500 guests. This effort included an extensive survey of the patio / pool area and design of an efficiently located Low Impact Development subsurface storm drainage detention/infiltration system within this patio area for permitting and to minimize disturbance. The ICC is conveniently located downtown for guests, and also has its own dining hall.
