Middlesex School – Concord
Billerica, MA
Samiotes has provided civil engineering and land surveying for numerous large-scale projects on the Middlesex School campus in Concord, including the Clay Science and Mathematics Center (with observatory), the Athletics Center expansion, the additions to the Higginson House, the Head of School House Chapel expansion, the newly-constructed faculty housing development (three houses constructed, planning/approvals for up to nine), and their boathouse located along the Concord River in Billerica. The largest and most controversial project was the East Fields Athletic Facilities expansion - including completion of an access road, two new synthetic turf fields, a timber bridge for a wetland crossing, eight tennis courts, and a low-impact development stormwater management system. An irrigation well was also installed as part of this design to reduce potable water usage. All projects required approvals that were obtained from the Natural Resources Commission and the Planning Board.
