The Dudley Branch Library renovation strengthens one of Roxbury’s most important civic anchors, transforming the branch into a more welcoming, flexible, and accessible resource for the neighborhood.
Samiotes provided civil engineering and site permitting services to support the library’s addition and comprehensive interior/exterior renovations. Working closely with the design team and the City of Boston, Samiotes delivered solutions that modernize the site while ensuring long-term functionality and permitting compliance.
Expanding Access Through Community-Centered Design
Samiotes’ role included:

The design of all civil site elements to support the new addition and upgraded exterior program

Coordination of full City of Boston permitting, including BWSC and Public Improvement Commission approvals

Improving site accessibility and circulation to better serve library visitors

Supporting the grading, utility connections, and stormwater requirements related to the expanded facility
