Claudia Ponce de León

About:

Claudia Ponce de León is the Director of Reality Capture at Samitoes Consultants, where she is dedicated to growing the new department and creating value for the design team and clients. She achieves this by leading the deaprtment to provide survey-level accurate and comprehensive point clouds, 3D models, and 2D plans of existing structures and environments. Claudia is actively pursuing new business opportunities and projects to expand the department’s portfolio.

She provides strategic oversight for all reality capture projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Claudia has developed and implemented the department’s standard operating procedures, best practices, and internal training programs. She is a strong advocate for the company’s learning culture, believing in nurturing curiosity to drive the department forward.

Did You Know:

During her undergraduate studies, Claudia was first introduced to Reality Capture through summer research at the University of Nebraska. In June 2019, she co-authored a published paper titled “Jones, E. G., & Soltaninejad, M., & Ponce de Leon, C. (2019, June), Work in Progress: Moving from Outside to Inside - Traffic Engineering Field Exercises through Virtual Reality,” presented at the 2019 ASEE Annual Conference & Exposition in Tampa, Florida. Since then, Claudia has been passionate about using technology to advance the AEC industry and has been committed to leveraging the latest technology throughout her career.

Additionally, during her undergraduate years, Claudia was actively involved as a member of the Alpha chapter of the first Latina-based sorority at an Ivy League institution, Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. She continues to be involved as an alumna, promoting women and minority empowerment and advancement.

Outside of work, Claudia enjoys family life as a newlywed with her husband and their dog. She frequently travels to visit family and friends on both coasts of the U.S.A.
