Arlington High School
Arlington, MA
The new Arlington High School is a transformative, carbon-neutral campus designed to serve future generations while embodying the town’s commitment to sustainability. Constructed in phases across the existing 22-acre site, the project required careful coordination to ensure uninterrupted learning as students and faculty remain on campus throughout construction.
Engineering for a Carbon-Neutral Future
Samiotes provided civil engineering services including stormwater management, grading, hardscape design, site utilities, and LEED elements to support this ambitious project. Key contributions included:
-
Designing stormwater systems that manage runoff effectively across multiple construction phases
-
Developing grading and hardscape solutions that balance functionality with accessibility and aesthetics
-
Coordinating site utilities to support phased occupancy and minimize disruption to ongoing school operations
-
Supporting the project’s sustainability goals, which included maximizing on-site renewable solar energy and achieving an all-electric, carbon-neutral design
Through resilient and sustainable engineering, Samiotes helped deliver a high-performance learning environment that reflects Arlington’s forward-thinking approach to education and climate responsibility.
